Has God ever woken you up in the middle of the night with a burden to pray for someone, a country, or a nation you hadn’t even been thinking about? Without you ever looking at the news, the Holy Spirit can give you a front-row seat to what’s happening globally through a dream.

That's exactly what happened to me this morning. The LORD gave me a disturbing dream about Haiti that woke me out of my sleep, calling me to intercede for a country and a people I care deeply about. When God gives you a middle-of-the-night prayer assignment, don't ignore it.

Later on, I decided to check the current news headlines—and I found a direct correlation to what the Holy Spirit had just shown me in my dream. God is looking for intercessors who will listen when He speaks. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cmy0z00wr14xo. Please join me in lifting up Haiti today:

Heavenly Father, Most High God,

I come before You today carrying the burden of a nation I love. You saw the dream You gave me, and You know the ache in my heart for the beautiful people of Haiti. Lord, I lift up this country to You right now.

I pray specifically for the countryside and the vulnerable homes that are facing terror and displacement. I ask that You stretch out Your hand of supernatural protection over every family. Be a shield around their dwellings, scatter the forces of violence, and replace their fear with Your divine peace. I stand on Your promise that “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest” (Isaiah 32:18).

Father, I stand against the spirit of lawlessness, chaos, and rioting that is tearing the nation apart. I pray for a restoration of justice and order. Protect the security forces that are attempting to intervene in Haiti. Touch the hearts of those causing destruction; let Your conviction break the power of gang violence, and bring a supernatural wave of peace over the land. Let the reality of Your Word manifest over Haiti: “No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise” (Isaiah 60:18).

Lord, I lift up the Body of Christ and the Church in Haiti, which the enemy is now boldly attempting to attack and silence. I pray for Your supernatural protection over every parish, ministry, leader, and believer standing on the frontlines. Grant Your Church an unshakeable courage and a divine shield as they face these forces of darkness. Let the global and local Body of Christ rise up in unity, boldly pushing back the enemy through the power of strategic, relentless prayer. Let the light of Your Church shatter the strongholds of violence and declare that the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

As someone who has looked into the eyes of Haiti's future, I lift up the students, teachers, and the next generation. Do not let the enemy steal their future or their education. I bind the spirit of hopelessness, and loose God's purpose for every boy and girl in Haiti. Protect the schools, reopen the doors of learning, and let the children of Haiti grow up to see a transformed nation. Lord, I pray that you release an angelic guard over the sponsored children through Compassion International, the Compassion Centers and church partners. I pray a hedge of protection over their homes, families, and communities. Let no weapon formed against them prosper.

Lord, there is nothing too hard for You. Meet every physical, emotional, and spiritual need in Haiti. Jehovah Jireh, provide as only You can. Release your supernatual grace and mercy over this country.

Finally, Lord, thank You for positioning me to see, to care, and to intercede. Keep my heart burning for Haiti without being overcome by grief. Prepare me, strengthen me, and make my path clear so that when the doors safely open, I am ready to return and serve the people I love once again.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
